"Seven Goodbyes" serves as an outlet for the artist in love, a tribute to how love has inspired the most beautiful songs and has been with us through our hopes and disappointments, while attempting to examine relationships in the 21st century.
Modern love challenges the paradigms about romantic relationships we grew up with; it makes us question the romantic notion of perfect love, the longevity of relationships, fidelity, the desire to have children or not, our relationship with our parents, and how their example as a couple shapes our expectations and the way we form romantic relationships.
Is love forever? Is there such a thing as "the love of my life"? How many "loves of my life" can there be in a single lifetime? Are we a collection of stories rather than a single story that lasts a lifetime?
It is written from a place of hope amid despair, from a search for goodness in lies, and with nostalgia as a driving force for change. An unconventional musical that, like love itself, simply seeks to remind us that we are alive and that loving is a leap into the unknown that is always worth taking—even if it breaks our hearts.
