Take a trip to Bustamante
Nuevo León has three "Magical Towns." The most visited of all is Santiago, in the citrus-growing region, followed by Linares—the home of Los Cadetes—also in the same region. While these two are the most famous, there’s one in the northern region of Nuevo León that you’re going to love. It’s Bustamante, the perfect place to get away from it all.

The first thing you'll notice when you enter the town is a mezcal distillery. And yes, they produce this drink in Bustamante, and it's quite good. In fact, at the Ancira Hotel Restaurant, you can find two excellent varieties made using exclusive recipes.
Like all "Magical Towns," it has its town hall and a bandstand perfect for taking some nice photos, but right next to the main square is the Museum of Living Memory, where you can learn more about the town's customs, traditions, notable figures, and its Tlaxcalan heritage.
You can also visit the Museum of Simple Things, which features a collection of objects that trace the evolution of village life and society as a whole, as well as traditional costumes and much more.

Speaking of the Ancira Hotel Restaurant, it’s a place you have to visit. Not only is it one of the best places to stay in town, it’s also the best restaurant in town. Whatever you try will be delicious, though the signature dish is roast kid—and honestly, there are no words to describe it; it’s delicious.

Bustamante is also one of the towns with the most bakeries in Nuevo León, and the bread is delicious at every one of them. There’s even one that still uses a stone oven, which gives everything they bake a special touch.
Now let’s explore two of Bustamante’s most iconic and beautiful sites. We’ll start with its caves, the only ones with universal accessibility—meaning that seniors and people with mobility impairments can explore them without any trouble. The Bustamante Caves are a gift of nature that you have to see in person to appreciate their grandeur.

And finally, the Ojo de Agua Canyon. This spot features a series of turquoise pools where you can come to relax. It’s also a great place to camp, as long as you follow the rules and remember not to light campfires or other open flames to prevent fires.

This is Bustamante, one of our "Magical Towns" with plenty to offer for a relaxing getaway. Plan your trip and enjoy your visit!
