"Seven Goodbyes" serves as an outlet for the artist in love, a tribute to how love has inspired the most beautiful songs and has been with us through our hopes and disappointments, while attempting to examine relationships in the 21st century.
Modern love challenges the paradigms about romantic relationships we grew up with; it makes us question the romantic concept of perfect love, the longevity of relationships, fidelity, the desire to have children or not, our relationship with our parents, and how their example as a couple influences our expectations and the way we form romantic relationships.
Is love forever? Is there such a thing as the love of my life? How many loves of my life can fit into a single lifetime? Are we a collection of stories rather than a single story for a lifetime?
It is written from the hope found in desolation, from the search for goodness in lies, and from nostalgia as a driving force for change. An atypical musical that, just like love itself, simply tries to remind us that we are alive and that loving is a leap into the void that is always worth it, even if it breaks our hearts.
