Giselle is a classical ballet in two acts that tells the tragic story of a young peasant girl who, upon falling in love with a nobleman disguised as a villager, discovers the betrayal that will change her fate. In the first act, Giselle dies of a broken heart upon learning the true identity of Albrecht, her beloved who is engaged to another woman. In the second act, transformed into a spirit, Giselle joins the realm of the Willis—the souls of betrayed brides—but her pure love manages to protect Albrecht from eternal punishment. A sublime work about love, betrayal, and forgiveness, with original choreography by Jules Perrot and Jean Coralli, a libretto by Vernoy de Saint-Georges and Gautier, and music by Adolphe Adam.
This performance is suitable for all audiences and is ideal for ballet lovers, students, families, teenagers, and adults. Due to its romantic and tragic themes, children under 7 are encouraged to be accompanied by an adult. The content is emotionally intense but does not contain explicit violence or inappropriate language.
