Mirador Asta Bandera (Flagpole Viewpoint)

This viewpoint offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the city and the gigantic flagpole of 100 meters high. From here you will see places as the Viaducto de la Unidad bridge, the Huasteca Canyon and the Sierra Madre Oriental to the southeast; Cuauhtemoc Brewery and UANL to the north; and La Silla Mountain, Tecnológico de Monterrey and downtown to the east.

Monumental Flag

The monumental flag is located at the top of the Obispado hill, in the same place as the viewpoint. Its construction began in 2003 and was inaugurated on February 24th, 2005 to celebrate the Flag Day in Mexico.

With a flagpole of 120 tons and 100 meters high, as well as a flag of 50 by 30 meters high and 250 kg. This place is an attraction for tourists and locals.

Viewpoint

The viewpoint consists of a 40-meter circular esplanade in diameter with the flagpole on its center, to a height of 775 above the sea level. There are benches, a small parking (for people with disabilities mainly) and 3 French style gardens. The facilities are equipped with drinking fountains and bathrooms. The viewpoint was designed as a family trip, so the main path to the top is very spacious and well-lit. Vehicles are allowed to enter, but the main parking is located at the entrance to the park.
