Nuevo León

In honor of General Manuel Mier y Terán, a hero of the War of Independence.

The municipality of General Terán, recently designated a "Pueblo Mágico" (Magical Town) of Nuevo León, is located in the citrus-growing region.

It borders the municipality of Los Ramones to the north; Linares, Montemorelos, and the state of Tamaulipas to the south; the municipality of China to the east; and Montemorelos and Cadereyta Jiménez to the west.

Terán produces the highest percentage of all orange varieties, as it is the largest municipality in the state in terms of land area.
