The Best Festivals in Nuevo León

Lately, there’s been a lot of buzz about the festivals in Nuevo León. More and more people are visiting the state to take part in these major events, and it’s no wonder—not only do they feature the best artists, but they’ve also become must-see experiences.

That's why today we're sharing a list of the best festivals in Nuevo León.

Santa Lucía International Festival

The Santa Lucía International Festival has been a leading cultural event in Nuevo León for 16 years.

While the festival features great bands and singers from around the world and across all genres every year, it stands out as one of the few that embraces and promotes the arts on such a grand scale.

We're talking about a festival that features all kinds of artistic expressions. There's theater, circus acts, performance art, workshops, and much more. There are even unique parades, such as the one featuring illuminated alebrijes in 2022.

It’s always full of surprises, and that has drawn visitors from all over the world during the months of September and October. This year it runs from September 24 to November 5, and you can view the schedule on its website: https://festivalsantalucia.gob.mx.

Nortex

The first festival celebrating norteño and Tex-Mex music. Although it has only been held a few times, it has become one of the region’s biggest favorites. It even attracts many visitors from the United States.

This stage has hosted legends of the sport, such as Albert Zamora, Bobby Pulido, El Poder del Norte, Los Invasores, and Alicia Villarreal.

This festival truly captures the spirit of the region. If you want to experience what it's like to be from the region, this festival is for you.

Grill Master SMP

Because Nuevo León just had to have a barbecue festival.

The Grill Master is a festival organized by the Mexican Barbecue Association, in which teams from all over Mexico and some from abroad compete with their best barbecue creations, using a variety of cooking techniques and meats.

But the best part is that it’s not just a competition—it’s also a tasting event! Most of the teams prepare some snacks especially for the attendees. And as if that weren’t enough, the festival features a fire pit where over 15 tons of food are cooked up for everyone. So if you’re going to this festival, make sure to come with a big appetite because you’ll want to try everything.

These are just a few of the biggest festivals in Nuevo León. We invite you to visit us and experience them all. We look forward to seeing you!
