Rayones is a beautiful town located in the Sierra Madre Oriental mountain range in the southern part of the state.
The town is famous for being the leading producer of walnuts in the northern part of the country; this is the town’s primary source of employment, and the walnut is the most prized fruit among its residents, making the “Walnut Fair” the town’s biggest festival, which takes place from September through October.
Rayones is the perfect place for adventure, thanks to its location in the heart of the Sierra, where you can go hiking, climbing, and even swimming in natural springs, admire beautiful scenery, or simply enjoy a day in the countryside surrounded by nature along the Casillas or Pilón Rivers.
Rayones is a town that has it all—you can enjoy weekend festivals, extreme adventure tourism, great food, local traditions, and a wonderful atmosphere. It has a charm that’s hard to put into words; you just have to experience it for yourself.
