Tips for preventing heatstroke
Nuevo León is a state with very hot temperatures, especially in the city. And, as if that weren't enough, a heat wave has decided to pay us a visit, so we need to be careful not to suffer from heatstroke while hiking. Check out these tips!

One of the most basic tips: use sunscreen. Given current weather conditions, the sun's rays tend to be more harmful, and sunscreen will help protect your skin from damage.
It’s also a good idea to wear light, breathable clothing. Even though it’s hot, you can wear long sleeves to protect your arms from the sun’s rays, as long as the clothes are loose-fitting and made of a fabric like cotton to allow for airflow.
Wear a hat and sunglasses or sunglasses with UV protection to minimize the sun's impact. Remember that this is the main cause of heatstroke, so it's essential that you protect yourself as much as possible.

Start your hike early to avoid the heat building up and enjoy more comfortable temperatures.
And finally: stay hydrated—don’t forget to bring enough water, at least three liters. In this heat, we tend to sweat more, so it’s important to replace the fluids we lose. Water is best, but you can also drink sports drinks and electrolyte solutions. The key is to maintain your body’s fluid levels.
Follow all these recommendations, and you can avoid heatstroke when hiking in hot weather. Don’t forget to practice responsible tourism: dispose of your trash properly and do not light campfires, grills, or any other open flames to prevent wildfires.
