The Amity Affliction, the Australian metalcore band that has taken confessional lyrics to heart, delivers an emotional and melodic sound. The band was formed in 2002 by Ahren Stringer and Troy Brady, two lifelong friends who had been deeply affected by the death of a friend in a car accident. In 2005, following the addition of vocalist Joel Birch, The Amity Affliction began touring, building a national reputation as an up-and-coming band.
